Our Vision
The Society for Victorian Arts and Culture Foundation is dedicated to preserving the Spotts-Coffman house and promoting the cultural heritage of our community through education and engagement. Our mission is to inspire curiosity and foster a deeper appreciation for how the efforts and creations of those in the past influence our lives today.
WHAT HAS THE FOUNDATION BEEN DOING LATELY?
Maintenance and Preservation!
For example, our over 100 year old black walnut tree was struck by lightning during the summer, killing two main branches which had to be removed as they were a safety hazard.
We also are having our gutters cleaned and leaf filters placed so that cleaning won't be needing to be done again. This should help with the water runoff issue which has caused some damage to the bricks and also has resulted in occasional basement flooding
Lastly, we have had some squirrels decide that the attic is a good place to call home, so we have had to get a wildlife specialist involved with sealing the damaged places where the critters have been opening up access!
All told, over $10 thousand dollars of work is being done, most paid by loans and with donations. Your donations really help!
